(1 April 2022, Hong Kong) Apollo Future Mobility Group Limited (“AFMG”, the “Company”, HKEX stock code: 860, together with subsidiaries, the “Group”) announces an array of changes to its Board of Directors and new board-level appointments to highlight its focus on branding and positioning as a premium electric vehicle (“EV”) enterprise and on the EV market in China.
With effect from 1 April 2022, (i) Mr. Qi Zhenggang, Marcus, is appointed by the Board as an executive Director and a member of each of the Investment Committee and Corporate Governance Committee; (ii) Ms. Hau Yan Hannah Lee, is appointed as an independent non-executive Director (“INED”) and a member of each of the Audit Committee and Remuneration Committee; (iii) Mr. Freeman Hui Shen, a non-executive Director, is appointed as a member of the Audit committee and Remuneration Committee; and (iv) Mr. Joseph Lee, an executive Director, is appointed as the chairman of the Corporate Governance Committee.
These follow the appointment of Mr. Qi as General Manager and Ms. Zheng Kaiyan Enya as Senior Vice President, Finance, of AFMG in February this year. Mr. Qi and Ms. Zheng will lead the Group’s efforts in exploring the EV Market in China under a dedicated business unit and continue to work with the earlier established joint venture with Shanghai Alliance, focusing on the Group’s branding and positioning in the premium EV segment. The Group will also commit significant resources to expand its foothold in the EV market in China.
Mr. Qi, aged 48, has over 20 years of experience in the automotive and technology industry. His industry expertise is both deep and diverse, with rich experience in automobile engineering, product development, manufacturing, quality assurances, logistics and project management for both internal combustion engine and new energy vehicles. He has also accumulated extensive connections with other industry peers. He had served in senior positions in major automotive corporations in China, including a joint venture between Voyager/Didi and GAC, WM Motor, GAC-NIO, Fiat, BorgWarner and Volkswagen, etc. Marcus’ unparalleled experience in developing cutting-edge models such as Model HYCAN 007 for GAC-NIO, Model EX5 for WM Motor, L4 Robotaxi for the joint venture between Voyager/Didi and GAC, etc., made him the ideal candidate to lead AFMG’s efforts in expanding into the EV market in China. Marcus graduated with a bachelor’s degree in power machinery with minor in technology economics from the Shanghai Jiao Tong University and obtained a master’s degree in internal combustion engine from the Shanghai Jiao Tong University.
The newly appointed INED Ms. Lee, aged 48, has more than 25 years of experience in auditing, accounting, mergers and acquisitions and initial public offerings. She currently works as a consultant for start-up companies in Hong Kong. She served as the chief financial officer at various multibillion dollar companies in Hong Kong and China, including Ganji.com, Global Education & Technology Group and The9 Limited. Between 2016 and 2017, Hannah also served as an independent non-executive director of AL Group Limited (Stock Code: 8360). Hannah received her bachelor’s degree with honors in Accounting from the University of British Columbia. She is also a Certified Public Accountant in the USA and a Chartered Professional Accountant in Canada.
